MINI JOURNAL 1 - URBAN PLANNING
INTRODUCTION
Mini journal is an assignment where students were required to print out templates that our lecturers will post as pptx. files on our Facebook page. By answering the five questions in the templates, we have to do a lot of research to understand the definition of the urban terminology given, characteristics and more. We must answer the questions using visual note taking style which is different with the method of note-taking that I used during my secondary school life.
Visual note taking is a creative way to take notes using pictures, typography, lines, shapes, and doodles. It is proved to improve people's memorizing skill and attract readers attention especially for young kids.
As this is something that quite new for me that I did not implement during my studies, I do my research on visual note taking and try to convert the information into interesting visuals.

From this mini journal, I learned about the visual note taking style through referring to some images from Internet. It is a crucial skill that every architect should have. Hence, this assignment prepared us better for the future.
Visual note taking style requires people to think analytically and critically on how to present the data and information that we collected in simple and understandable manner.
It requires self discipline to keep applying or using this method in daily life to train our creativity. The journal notes helps in quick revision and during extensive studying.
