Assignment 03 - Form Manipulation
INTRODUCTION
This assignment is to learn and explore the transformation from 2D to 3D form through manipulation and transformation. This is a group project and my groupmates are Tian Xin and Beverlee. Students are required to explore basic form of manipulations & transformation weekly and create a final 3D model that applies the distinctive characteristics of the given architect which is Bjarke Ingels.
THE PROCESS
We analyze the buildings of BIG and propose a few words and finally we came to a final word which is "transmute". We also refers to Francis Dk. Ching book. The basic method such as sliced and removed, shifted and remained etc.
SUBMISSION DAY
Throughout this project, we started to learn and expose to different methods of form manipulation. Mockup models were built to enable us to learn different types of manipulation every tutorial weeks in class before the submission. It is a very interesting project as we need to explore the significant characteristics of Bjarke Ingels. To be honest, this is the first time we try to look into the methods the architect used to build his building instead of just appreciating its aesthetic value etc.
